Good So Far

Being in a situation where you don’t have a place to call home can be very stressful. No one knows how it feels unless they have been there. Luckily, I have a place for my kids and me until April. That is a lot less stressful than my prior arrangement with the state. They had me call once a week to see if they could afford another week for us to stay at this hotel. I am thankful for this program I have joined that allows us to have until April. This is a very humbling experience, and all I can do is take it day for day as long as my kids are safe and warm.

Not True

Someone commented on my Instagram page. They thought people became homeless because they gave up and wanted others to take care of them. That is far from being true. I am in this situation because I was asked to leave a family member’s house. I was in a relationship with an addict. He was the father of my 2 children. I tried to make it work, but he would not stop using. My sister asked me for 4 years to come to her home she would help me. Finally, I took the step and moved to her house. I thought by helping me she would help babysit because she knew that was what I needed help with. I was completely wrong. My sister does not work or do anything. She would not babysit. When I enrolled the kids in school, I got a job during school hours…
